Abbeymead is a two-form entry school. Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 60 (30 per class).

Admission to EYFS for September 2026
In Gloucestershire children can start primary school, if their parents wish, in the September of the school year in which they become five. For children due to start in September 2026 the child's date of birth falls between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022. The school year starts on 1 September.
Applications must be made to Gloucestershire County Council for every child stating school in September 2026.
Parents can apply online 24 hours a day, seven days a week from November until midnight on 15 January or by completing a paper form which can be downloaded from Gloucestershire County Council School Admissions webpage, or requested from the County Council's Co-ordinated Admissions Team on 01452 425407.
Parents are encouraged to list five preferred schools on their form as school places cannot be guaranteed. Failing to list all five preferences, regardless of sibling links, could lead to children being allocated school places parents would not have listed.

In-Year Admissions - Applying for a school place during the school year
To apply for a school place during the year, you will need to complete an in-year admission form available from Gloucestershire County Council website (see link below). Please send your completed application form and supporting documents (i.e. copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of address) by email to secretary@abbeymead.gloucs.sch.uk

Admission Appeals
If you make an in-year application and receive a refusal letter, you have a legal right of appeal against the decision.
