At Abbeymead we provide our children with additional curriculum opportunities to build on, and compliment the National Curriculum. We aim to provide our children with rich and varied opportunities in order to develop our children's interests and passions. We do this through:
We earmark amounts of many each year to support our pupil premium families to ensure that they have equal access to the above provision.
Each year, we review our trips and visitors provision to ensure it is meeting the needs of our children and that we are making the best of what is on offer, both locally and nationally.
Next year's 2023 - 2024 proposed offer is shown below but it is subject to availability.
Religious Visits and Visitors
To support our RE curriculum and show the diversity in religions, we have visits as well as zoom calls from people of different faiths. We have a Christian story-teller, Open the Book group from the local church, an Imam and a Hindu member of the community who have shared their knowledge with the children and staff at Abbeymead. All visits have provided an abundance of subject enrichment for the children who have benefited from the opportunity.
