Welcome to Abbeymead Primary School. We are delighted that your child has been allocated a place with us for September 2023 and are encouraged that most families have now accepted their child’s place with us.

Welcome Presentation/ New parent briefing

We are able to confirm that the date and time for the the Welcome presentation is Thursday 15^th June at 6pm. We look forward to welcoming you to Abbeymead for this informative session where you will meet members of the core leadership team, EYFS team and find out about what to expect when your child starts in September and joins the Abbeymead family.  

This presentation is aimed at parents and careers so we recommend that you attend without your child/ren on this occasion. 

Information about stay and play sessions 

Following our EYFS families’ induction evening, your child will have the opportunity to visit school, familiarise themselves with the classroom environment, meet their teachers and new friends in our settling in sessions.

  Home Visits

Our home visits will give you and your child a chance to get to know us and for us get to know you, thus starting our home / school relationship on a positive footing. This visit is crucial for building a relationship with families, a time to exchange information and a further opportunity to gain a better understanding of your child.

Dates for these visits are: 

Wednesday 6th September

Thursday 7th September

Friday 8th September

Monday 11th September

You will be invited to sign up for a time and date after the families induction session.

Immunisations - Is your child up to date with their vaccination?

  Before they start school they should have had their 2nd Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) and their vaccination for diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough and polio(DTaP/IPV)
   
• Unsure? Check your child’s vaccination status with your GP Surgery
