Abbeymead Child and Family Support

Parenting Support and Pastoral Care

Community Family Worker – Karen Overthrow and Vicci Gibbons

We understand that sometimes children and their families may need a bit of extra support to help cope with the ups and downs of daily life.

Here at Abbeymead, we have a dedicated and experienced team, available for you to discuss and share your concerns. Our staff can offer confidential support and advice to children and their families who are experiencing social and emotional issues. These may include friendships, self- esteem, bereavement, transitions, separation, sleep problems, school phobias, housing or financial advice and much more.

Early Help for Children and Families

Providing early help to our children and families at Abbeymead Primary School means we are more effective in promoting support as soon as we can. Early help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life, from the foundation years through to teenage years.
